The McCulloch Genealogy Centre is an extensive resource centre for historical documents pertaining to the Town of Pictou, Pictou County and Northern Nova Scotia. Please visit our Archives page for a list of resources.

Full Service

We do the work for you!

Perhaps you are new to genealogy or many miles away and can't do a site visit to do the research yourself.

Experienced research staff will do the research for you via long distance. There is a minimum $25.00 fee for this service. The price increases depending on the type of information you are seeking and the amount of time it will require to source the details that you are looking for. After the deposit is received, a researcher will email you to discuss your project and what you are looking for.

Remember, the more details that you can provide to us - the easier it will be to find the information that you are looking for and therefore require less time.

Full Service Fees

$25 minimum - $25 per hour thereafter

Pay Online

Assisted Service

When you visit us in person but would like help from a member of the research staff while you are here, assisted service is right for you. 

The cost is $20 and you can expect to receive guidance and direction on which material would be most helpful to you. This service is generally used by amateur or hobby genealogists.

Appointments are required for all site visits. Please contact us directly to book a time.

Self Service

If you are comfortable with browsing and searching for documents and indexes on your own, then this service is best suited for you.

Staff will be on site for questions, but will leave you alone to find the items that you are looking for.

This service is also suitable for those who want to visit our facility to browse the library, microfilms or photo collection. The cost is $10 for this unassisted service.
